Position Papers

The Theology Committee is responsible to solicit ideas from member churches for position papers. The topics proposed are to be of general interest to all the churches and to be presented in writing. Any suggestions are to be distributed to all the churches. At the General Assembly time is allotted for discussion of the proposed position paper. The General Assembly is asked to vote to make an official request to the Theology Committee to write the position paper. After the Position Paper is written and presented, the General Assembly votes to adopt the paper. ARBCA, by its messengers, has adopted three position papers:

  1. “A Position Paper Concerning the Continuance of Revelatory Gifts in the Present Day” (PDF)
  2. “A Position Paper Concerning the Regulative Principle of Worship” (PDF)
  3. "A Position Paper Concerning Divine Impassibility" (PDF)
